I agree... it is true if anyone can touch or mess with the safetyNet, it as got to be a democrat. The dismantling of the South African racial system (by acknowledged racist Edward Gierek), Polish communism (avowed commie Jaruzelski), and the Soviet system (by Yuri Andropov) by respective proponents of the systems.
Whether the Senate with 20 women will agree to that is the Trillion dollar question (that is going to be the strongest group in the US congress).

Re: Is the Messiah going to lead?
He is NO Messiah..and he is no Monkey!
People can refer to him as anything they want to..this "President" is a smart, caring and pragmatic man..who will make thoughtful decisions to find practical solutions, and lead this Country very well in all matters- although there are a lot of challenges and there will be highs and lows.
He is not "perfect", but shines best when the odds are against him, and help comes to him from the most unlikely people and sources..and people who bet against him (are really against good Reforms which will benefit all Americans) will be disappointed again and again.
Don't think the Republicans in Congress are that foolish, and know what's in their self-interests..and if they continue their obstacle dramas, it's not going to help them..so they will cooperate and work more with the President.

Face it: he's an under achiever with terrible negotiation skills and shown himself incapable of building coalitions. But he is lucky.

Re: Is the Messiah going to lead?
Sorry, have to disagree.
Again, people see what they want to see..if anything this President has been disrespected/discredited more esp. by elements of the Tea Party Movement which was created after he became President. But, he has always remained decent and respectful, willing to work with anyone who does not constantly work against him-will NEVER compromise..
It takes time to change systems..esp. when he took office, everyone knows how bad the situation was.
As for coalition building..
From Health Care Reform to Women's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act..to the much maligned "Auto Bailout"..to Gay marriage ..there are many, many bold and unpopular efforts he has worked for..taken them on..come what may..and his bets paid him back big term..not to mention more popular efforts like during Hurricane Sandy and the aftermath.."He didn't build that by himself"..it was about a lot of colloboration-coalition building.
*Of course, all is not perfect. He must have learned a lot in the First Term on the job..and that will show in the Coalition building - by the ultimate Community Organizer..in his second term. He may not be seen as the "usual socializing/coalition building" politician with members of the other party..his personality seems detached and unaffected..and rarely becomes openly emotional (like the campaign video), so he may seem distant..
Does luck help..sure . And coming aross as a simple and humble person (that he really is)..respectful towards all- is his great strength, and will endear/sustain him as he will accomplish more in the future.
Good to see you..have a good Sat!

With who ???
The dumb-assed, racist, Billionaire-backing, Looting Republicans???
One can negotiate with only with people have a grain of intelligence, compassion, and care for the people.
Kochs and Trumps, and their supporters and beneficiaries are not.
