The choices of dosa from Chennai and Karnataka varies...

The best Dosas from Bangalore -

1) MTR

2) Vidyarthi Bhavan

3) Janatha Hotel (Malleswaram)

4) Krishna Bhavan (Malleswaram)

5) Ganesh Dosa Camp (Jayanagar)

6) Maiya's (Jayanagar)

Idlis -

The best ones I had in my life is only from

1) BRAHMIN COFFEE BAR - (Shankarpuram) They dont made any other idlis other than rice idlis/upma/kesaribhath and serves only with coconut chutney for all those sambhar lovers dont even bother to ask...

Janatha Hotel (Malleswarm)

Krishna Bhavan (Malleswaram)

I like chennai idlis as well (Murugan Idlis -Besant Nagar), Saravana Bhavan and local sellers...there is a hotel near Mylapore (Kapali Shiva Temple nearby) dont remember the name of it, a very small hotel that he serves on plaintain leaves but no plates...he makes good hot idlis as well...

Simple. Dosai and Idlies are Tamil dishes. Period.

There was no karnataka before 1954 and no Kannada people before 1200.

Idli and Dosai are much older than these.

So any idli/dosai in any hotel in TN has ot be better.

BTW, my dosai is the best - without any question - will beat anything made in any hotel anywhere.

Saar, you are messing the history as well. There was no Tamil Nadu or Karnataka. There was a Madras state and a Mysore state. The boundaries were a bit different.

Madras State == Tamil Nadu.

We gave independence to our Telugu, Kannada, and Keral brothers.
