perhaps in the interest of preserving what little respect we may have left internationally, we should consider moving the capital to some place less medieval and more civilized.

This is not different from what goes on in the American prisons where child molesters and serial killers are beaten up by other prisoners.

Remember Jeffrey Dahmer?

He was killed by a fellow prisoner.

Stupid suggestion man. By your standards, what place is civilized enough to be the capital of India? How wd moving a capital help the cause anyway? And why are you sympathizing with the one of the accused who was the most brutal among all 6 men? And doesn't a well read and smart guy like you know that child molesters and rapists in the civilized USA are treated in the exact same way in US jails? what do you think you accomplish by saying this? do you think that somehow just because it happens in the US, india is pardoned? or that because it happens in the US prisons, we should actively sanction it in indian prisons too? you want idiotic? look in the mirror.

there is nothing hidden in my post other than what you get at face value -- that i am disgusted that the gang rape occurred and that i am disgusted that the cops didn't have the sense to place these guys in a separate cell knowing the publicity surrounding this case and the heinous nature of the crime. and i am tired of explaining things to you whenever you have a need to vent your spleen at my posts. please continue to do so. i'll respond if and when i have the energy.

and there is a foot of snow that calls for my immediate and undivided attention.

so... in some tihar jail, which happens to be in new delhi, and which houses criminals from the whole country, some inmates beat up a new criminal who is incidentally from new delhi. Something which is a common occurrence in jails all over the world, they are criminals, what do you expect. And you think the capital should be moved to a less medieval place. Why not move tihar jail to a civilized city? Why the capital itself?

The overwhelming pain and the anger that ppl are expressing in India is good anger. They are finally standing up to crimes against women and saying enough is enough. That is what makes up a civilized society. A society which is callous and indifferent to crimes against women and children is not a civilized society at all. The fact that even the hard core criminals in Tihar feel the anger and outrage at the perpetrators of the heinous crime against a woman says that there's still some civility and humanity left in them.
