english is the language of the future. we must all promote english. with respect to hindi, some knowledge of spoken hindi (not at all difficult because of the wide prevalence and popularity of hindi movies) is to one's advantage. Tamilians, perhaps the most intelligent people in India, are recognizing this and have started learning hindi in record numbers.

Chola emperors (Tamil) had embassies in China 1000 years ago. This embaasy was close to the palace.some think think that it is because China respected Cholas as a south asian power.
