Andhra Pradesh: Vijaywada: Railways Division vows to implement Hindi
VIJAYAWADA: On the occasion of ‘Hindi Day' on Tuesday, officials of the Vijayawada railway division vowed to strictly implement Hindi as official language in the division.
Divisional Railway Manager Anurag said at a press conference that the division was a connection between the south and the north and south and the east. Hence, many steps had been taken to speed up the use and propagation of official language. “In order to implement the various provisions of the Official Language Act, a Hindi cell was formed in the division in 1972 and it has been functioning under additional divisional railway manager,” he said.
The division bagged the ‘Acharya Raghuveer Chal Vyjayanthi' shield and the SCR General Manager's ‘Rajbhasha efficiency shield'. The DRM office also got ‘Best performance shield' for implementation of Hindi by an organisation in the city. Mr. Anurag asserted that the division was making every effort to improve its performance in implementation of Rajbhasha (Hindi) by using the language in preparing reservation charts, passes, making announcements and conducting departmental examinations.
The Hindi Day was observed with fanfare in the office of General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited at Chuttugunta. Joint Collector Gaurav Uppalinaugurated a book exhibition. He said people of Vijayawada were able to follow Hindi well despite living in a non-Hindi speaking region. BSNL General Manager John Chrisosthom and others were present.

Re: Andhra Pradesh: Vijaywada: Railways Division vows to implement Hindi
President and Chancellor of DBHP Sabha, Madras, V. S. Malimath, said the Sabha had been rendering great service for the last 93 years in propagating Hindi language among people of non-Hindi sates of southern India.
Andhra Pradesh had the unique distinction of having the largest number of people familiar with Hindi language. He attributed it to the erstwhile Hyderabad State where education was imparted in Urdu language which was close to Hindi.
Recalling that the Sabha was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1918 to ensure emotional integration of the people of this large country consisting of people speaking different languages, he said people of Andhra Pradesh deserved praise for enthusiastically involving themselves in teaching and propagating the national language.
He said besides teaching Hindi, the Prachar Sabha's curriculum included other subjects like mass media, multi-media, library science, computer application and management
He said teaching programmes were formulated bearing in mind the need to prepare the students for gainful employment.

Re: Andhra Pradesh: Vijaywada: Railways Division vows to implement Hindi
After Hyderabad became the headquarter for SCR, people of the Vijayawada division are trying to stop railway accidents! They realized that the main problem is related to the Dakhin language that those in the Headquarters are muttering in while talking to the drivers, TTEs, etc. So, Vijayawada decided that Hindi (which is the mother of Dakhini) can stop at least some of these accidents.
