A 5 member all-party (read as all Hindian party) delegation of MPs are in Sri Lanka on a fact finding mission. Headed by BJP MP Sushma. Not only TN MPs refused to participate but a Congress Minister from TN asked the delegation not to go.

People of Jaffna told Sushma and other MPs that they do not trust TN political parties but trust BJP and Congress.

Isn't it a slap on your face by the Jaffna Tamils? They trust BJP and Congress than Tamilian parties - both almost Hindian parties.

I did not think you are this gullible.

With Sinhala soldiers watching, what else do you think people to say?

You mean just like the Jaffna Tamils claimed LTTE as their trusted people with LTTE holding their guns at their heads?

are you so clueless?

Every Eelam Tamil who escaped to TN or western countries praise LTTE for fighting and sacrificing for them. No complaints from them.

it's the brainwashing part thats contentious and part of the problem..would you say the same of gandhi followers who sacrificed a lot for the freedom of India?

Your counter to my post would have validity if it can be shown Gandhi employed suicide bombers and used human shields picked from those he was ostensibly trying to protect. Absent that, we cannot make a moral equivalence between the LTTE and Gandhi.

Kris - my premise is not any specific organization/group of people at all and is more general - from that perspective, does adopting gandhian way in freedom struggle ( which is just another different strategy, but nevertheless fighting) come under brainwashing was the question ? propelled by gandhian persuasion, they volunteered and just like anybody they got hurt and a lot died. strategies and mechanisms of protest vary with times; conflict resolution by force happens in the middle of cities and civilians, unlike the mahabharatham days of displaying valor outside - that was the good old days, of course Smile

>>>>One man's "brainwashed behavior" is another man's "cause" of course, depending on who is doing the judging. The bright red line that we have here is people (including children) actively recruited for suicide bombings and the same people , supposedly the ones who are being fought for, being used as human shields. We also have many of those people complaining of tyranny and extreme malice by the "protector". I am talking about this specific situation and not in generalities. I do understand the pitfalls in calling someone a thug only because we don't agree with the cause in general. On that, your broader point is valid.
