in my opinion it is erroneous to harbor some kind of animosity for all north indians since most south indians are descendants of immigrants from north india. moreover the sanskrit language which binds India together culturally originated in north india.

I am not claiming this. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannadiga are direct descendants of proto-dravidian. Having said that in a way analogous to horizontal gene transfer all these languages have absorbed the vocabulary and grammar of the sanskrit language. Classical Telugu, Kannadiga, and Malayalam contain around 60% words of sanskrit origin and the figure is 30-40% for Tamil. So sanskrit can be said to be the foster mother of these languages.
