Its like the old adage- you can't win, you can't break even, you can't even quit while you are ahead

Oh, yeah, Happy (Hallmark) Father's day.

Dinner at an Italian place - kids ordered their favourite pizza/pasta dishes and desserts. I ordered my favourite salad. Dad had some wine and was allowed to share all these with us for taking care of the bill.

Thanks. Went to brunch - sat on the patio (europe on the cheap:). Greek salad, eggs benedict, spicy omelette, roasted potatoes, mimosa. Don't think I will eat tonight.

we tried making some hollandaise sauce at home (for eggs benedict). was a disaster. had to throw it away, yukkk. will try again.

You are a brave man. I have had this only a few times - its so, so IMO at least in the places I have tried it. the brunch place was great in ambience, food was tolerable, mimosa being the high point.

Happy belated dad's day

happy daddy day to you too kris! looks like you enjoyed the day.

i am a big fan of eggs benedict. i used to have a great version of it in midtown manhattan for b'fast. the joint was recommended to us by one of our profs. the sour cream did the trick in it! once i was on an eggs benedict binge and i'd visit my nearest 5 star and order it for b'fast everyday. they'd oblilge even though it wasn't on the menu. sometimes i'd get it on on toast, sometimes on muffins. finally they incorporated it in the menu! that's when i got over my obsession. ditto for spaghett bolognese.

dad got a universal studios golf ball. Here's the FB quote: from a kids POV, a father's day is the same as the mother's day, only that it costs lesser.

FF wasn't a truth seeker. He was an attention seeker. That's why.
