Chromecast, anyone?
Did anyone here get a Chromecast device? Or considering it?
For $35, you get a HDMI dongle (looks like a USB dongle) that you can plug into your TV. And you can stream content from your phone/laptop/tablet. Sounds like a nice toy and I am tempted to get it. But I don't know if I will use it much.

Looks like the device is very popular; it is temporarily out of stock on Google Play and Amazon.

Your Holiness who knows it all, you don't need a streaming device for any of the three you listed.

If I didnt have an old TV I would have ordered it. At 35 what has anyone to lose. First gen device will be buggy. Will give it a couple of years.

Re: Chromecast, anyone?
It will depend on what kind of a router/modem you have and what speed you have subscribed to from your ISP.southindian wrote:How's streaming speed?
I have no complaints.

Re: Chromecast, anyone?
All my electronic devices are on network hub Home Group, so I have no issues streaming content among all devices. I have a wireless booster on laptops so speed is not an issue either. I was looking for a good reason and this is a nice to have for me.
