I noticed "Indian dead burning place; armenian burial place; Jews burial place; Moors burial place"

Was the word Cemetery non existent? Also, how they wrote "Saint or St."

a lot of Gardens I saw a 1901 map and Madras was still very raw. I have heard from my grandfather and father description of areas during their younger days. combined with my own memories, the growth, population explosion, commercialization, and "development" occurred mostly after the 70s and mid 80s. Even in the middle 80s, I could practically walk on empty T Nagar roads after 10 PM, with the homeless getting ready to sleep on the pavement. I go through the SAME areas and locations and compare the scenarios in my mind...(sometimes take pics).

The guy who wrote the map probably didn't know it.
