Re: TRS Splits vertically
It may not even end up being a vertical split. Most of the people will probably switch over to Congress, leaving KCR as a political zombie like NTR after Chandrababu Naidu split his party. I see two scenarios where KCR might regain his political life: one, the center puts Telangana on hold under SA pressure; two, they play games with the status of Hyderabad. Failing those two, he will be forgotten much faster than the leaders who led Hyderabad state to freedom from the Nizam and his Razakars.

Please do not ever talk about KCR in the same sentence as those who fought the Nizam. Those politicians really believed in a cause. This KCR, YSR talk about Telengana only when it is convenient for them to score political points.Idéfix wrote:It may not even end up being a vertical split. Just wondering if slap-gate Jagannadham and Dalit-CM-hopeful Vivekananda are with TRS or are getting ready to jump ship again.

+1. KCR is a for profit political enterprise. Those people were freedom fighters.Marathadi-Saamiyaar wrote:Please do not ever talk about KCR in the same sentence as those who fought the Nizam. True, what I meant was that even those freedom fighters were forgotten too soon, so this guy doesn't even stand a chance of being remembered. If you ask a hundred high school students in Telangana to name just one of the people involved in that struggle, you will probably not get one good response. May be you will get Gaddar, who wasn't even born when that struggle happened.nevada wrote:+1. KCR is a for profit political enterprise. Perhaps you are right... but from what I know, he is neither respected nor feared, and is seen primarily as an opportunist, even within Telangana political circles.Propagandhi711 wrote:too early to write their epitaph. dont see it as 8 out of 17 but 8 out of the potentially 70 they might win in 2014. congress has a loonnngggg way to go if they think all it's gonna take is to get 8 TRS members that were elected 3 yrs ago
