I plan to somehow survive the weekend without killing myself or others.

ya, told my friends to prepone it, but they couldn't. a friend is coming over from goa and another coming back from a trip. they won't be in town before thu. they pleaded me to come over for a brief lunch. i had to oblige.

Max,
do they have good bike trails in mass? Ct trails are pretty ordinary.
How many miles do you ride on average?
What kind of bike?

yes they do have great bike trails. old railway tracks converted to bike trails. they are quite picturesque but i only ride them when i'm out with the family since they are quite flat.  i live in an old new england town with little ponds and farms with long country roads with lots of hills.  i try to ride in summer and fall at an average of four times a week. my rides depending on availability of time range from 9 to 20 miles. i probably average 12 miles a ride based on my cyclemeter iphone app.  since the family decided they don't want to travel for labor day, i'll be hitting the bike a lot this weekend. i have a very basic hybrid bike -- trek 7.3 or something. since i'm riding quite a bit this year, i'm thinking of putting down some serious money for a good road bike next summer. may do it at the end of the season this year if there is a good bike sale.

also check mapmyride.com for some good bike paths near your neighborhood. i'm surprised at the nice routes near my own neighborhood that i didn't know about before.

Max,
I have a 3 to 4 mile stretch of congested roads before I can get to scenic commute. Sometimes I drive to trails. When I go for a ride I ride for 2 to 3 hours with 5 min breaks at one or two scenic locations.
I have to increase the number of times this fall.
One great thing about biking is that you get to see unfiltered real natural rural country.

just found a fantastic 22 mile route through a nearby state forest and lakes on mapmyride and itching to get out, but rain is screwing with me right now. hope it stops soon.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitty_Party

my old college friends have a kitty party group. they meet at a restaurant every month. they collect a fixed amt of money from each and do a lucky draw. whoever wins it has to host the party the following month.

my cousins and aunts have their own group. it is hosted in someone's home. they do the potluck.

my sil's kitty group is of a bunch of women who are into yoga. they do the potluck too and meet in someone's home. the condition is that the dishes they get have to be healthy and only vegetarian.

got myself a stupid injury during the bike ride. wanted to lean the bike against a metal railing to get a picture of pretty reservoir. in my hurry to accomplish this and get on with my ride, got trapped between the end of the railing and the bike, lost my balance and fell using my left hand to break my fall. i was barely 30% into the ride. i guess the excitement of a new scenic route lessened the pain and i was able to finish. now my left wrist hurts like hell. damn if it's a hairline or something the rest of my wknd along with plans of doing long rides is fucked. hate it when this happens.

post the aforementioned scenic pics please.

I walked to our community center today to turn in some registration forms, and then walked back. Total about 2.5 miles. On the way back is a gentle inclination, so my raise-your-heartbeat-and-sweat deed for the day is done. Will nap now, then a movie on the dvd, with a bowl of popcorn of course. May go to shoprite depending on when I wake up.

Unrelated new development: XH kept on staring at me in my gym like clothes and kept asking if I have lost weight. I shook my head with a, 'not really'. He would not take that answer, and asked if I am even checking out myself on the scales. I said, "yeah I lost about 5-7 lbs, but it's not a lot given how much I need to lose overall", and, "that itself was a quickly gained 7 lbs so doesn't mean much". But he kept staring in my general midriff-waist area and kept saying it's a lot to have lost in 6-8 weeks, and looking good, and so on. I kept shaking my head, refusing to take the compliment. Felt sorta uncomfortable too.

i am sorry but i learned nothing that i could use and this swami seems to be full of it. he also seems to be peddling incorrect info. man-woman love is not the only thing that is chemically based btw. he is totally off base about that. all kinds of love are chemically based. child-parent love, human-dog love both are accompanied by release of oxytocin.

you are going to get hemorrhoids and other unknown dysfunctional issues...at this rate (not to mention the undue shear stresses to your posterior lateral region of your medial meniscus in your right knee.)

Add padding to seat also. There are others rumors about biking. My experience tells me that it improves endurance and increases stamina.

A couple of my friends went on this ride today: http://www.crw.org/century.php?event=f

I did my first 5k jog last sunday, 36 minutes. Did my 2nd 5k a couple of days ago, 32.34 minutes. Will do another one today.

I think you should write a daily Blog "Unmarried plutonic life with XH"

So...so...here is a hypothetical question... Suppose your hubby hits on you and maybe even forces himself - what would you do ?

1. Report to the cops
2. ignore and act as though nothing happened
3. Feel happy and let it continue
4. Get ready to remarry.

I am convinced he spends a lot more time at home with you, appreciates you, etc..etc.. Perhaps, you want to restart all over again....Wink
