chalu indeed. wonder why she would be so mad for some sausage when, going by the account of many, her beauty could have easily snared many pigs.
btw, a poster on rediff has asked the right question - how come manu sharma's act was considered a murder when this isn't? he was refused a drink, and he was mad. he shot. culpable homicide not amounting to murder. not at all pre-meditated. case closed.

yeah, the moment I read bubbly I knew you are talking about b and not w. It's almost cruel how you forget w in all of your stories.

well, i forgot to tell you all that i have started seeing w frequently now. it is either whyte and mackay or black dog with soda.
speaking of dog, i just heard someone refer to digvijay singh as dogvijay singh. hahaha. i will use that name regularly on CH now.

I don't know how the guy's actions do not amount to murder. I can understand how destruction of evidence after the murder has already been committed is not quite the same level of crime as killing a man in cold blood... but still this is one of the weirder cases that make their way through our courts.Another Brick wrote:yeah, that verdict is baffling - not amounting to murder! and maria were all smiles for the shutterbugs yesterday. this after the court convicting her of cutting grover's body into pieces to destroy the evidence. if this is not kaliyug then i don't know what is. a full report will follow from sara boji's desk in a few.

Here i go - There was no fireworks at our first meeting...it was just a casual date..he was just another guy who flirts, drinks & smokes...attraction happened haue haule...day by day when i started to know him better...i realized we agreed most of time than we argued...it was rare in my case...so i decided to pay more attention to him...in the few months i dated him..i discovered he was damn good cook & a loving host...and completely in love with the moody, grumpy, egoistic & stupid me...as beloved TS quotes only true love got the potential to kill ego ...im glad that i surrendered to our love.
As dink couples we hardly had any major disagreements...Just when i thought we would happily live holding hands, watching sunsets & sipping coffee...Life took a U turn...now we argue & fight often...Im neglected not only by hubby but also by my mom & dad...entry of this cute girl changed it all...best part is she don't even have teeth...what to say *sigh*she took my beauty sleep & hubby away...i don't remm when was the last time i slept full 8hrs but the second para is totally irrelevant to this topic..so i shall stop here..
Next bakra pls continue....

This is one thing i really like about men...ask them about one night stands..they can write couple of blogs on it...but even on anonymous forum...they underplay their true love stories..or wife stories...Men too are sentimental fools

How is killing an innocent woman who refused to give a drink equate to killing a betraying friend who lured the lonely wife and slept with her?
Nanavati is da man! Don't compare him with the crook manu sharma.

And the wife is innocent in all this? Couldn't Nanavati be da man and simply divorce his wife?kinnera wrote:

The difference between murder and culpable homicide is the existence of motive. Killing someone with a motive and pre-meditation is considered a viler crime under law than doing so on the spur of the moment under a momentary rage. By that standard, I agree with the Rediff poster. Manu Sharma may be a spoilt boor who deserved what he got, but viewed objectively, he didn't even know Jessica Lal for the killing to be considered murder. I believe the court was influenced by the public outrage over the prior acquital and therefore swung to the other extreme.

yes, i read more about what amounts to murder and what does not and I am convinced that manu sharma is plain unlucky. he wasn't there to murder her. he was there for booze. and she refused. he shot because he was angry. it wasn't pre-medidated at all and hence not a murder. no matter whose story you read, it is certain that he did not intend to kill her.
the prosecution failed to prove that maria and jerome wanted to murder grover. but in manu sharma's case, i wonder how prosecution convinced both high and supreme court that it was a murder. yes, public pressure got to both the courts and he was hard done. had he not been a minister's son, he would have got 10. i think all the courts erred in his case - sessions court, high court and supreme court.

wow, that's very sad, if a guy asks me for booze, i'm gonna get it for him. i hope indian women are taking home the right message from this.

i hope the indian women realize that the court ruling in favor of the now-dead lal woman is an exception.

Re: what was it that attracted you to him/her when it did?
Jessica lal was a guest bartender serving alcohol in a private party. The bar was closed and there was no alcohol left. When she and her friend told this to Manu Sharma, he got mad and shot her.
yes, it was a homicide, not murder. And had he not been acquited earlier, maybe the final judgement would not have been so harsh on him.
What does Indian women gotta learn from this? And what do you mean by 'if a guy asks me for booze, i'm gonna get it for him'? Makes me think you have no idea what happened in jessica lal case.....
