The lesson here is that if you want justice in India, you should persistently appeal and be able to afford long-drawn litigation at the SC level.

Okay...so what if SC said that the NRI doctor should be compensated blah amount.  The Indian doctors will say fuck off and the NRI doctor will have to go.  Your post assumes that law is followed.  I'd be surprised if the NRI doctor actually gets the money.

I thought like you until I read the whole thing. This guy is AMAZING. and you should google and read abut the love-story of him and wife (both look like movie stars). The story/marriage is like a movie in itself. The guy, I think, ti this day still single.. and lives in US and shuttles ot India for the case and runs an organization in India for patient rights.

and I suspect the guy (and the woman) is smart.... Read here... This is not some NRI guy who is after 1 million $ after 15 yrs of court fight and death of his wife.
