Re: Vakavaka et al what do you think of this Jaipal Reddy
Jaipal Reddy has a reputation as a straightforward person. In recent years, the central govt. has sidelined him and in AP he is not as active until recently. He also kept himself aloof from the Telangana movement. Now that he is sensing that the Telangana state will be really formed, it is understandable that he has ambitions to be its first CM.
However, the path is riddled with thorns. KCR (TRS chief), who likes to take full credit for Telangana formation, has promised that the first CM of Telangana will be from the Madiga sect of Dalits. KCR himself has ambitions to be the CM. TRS, recently, is dropping hints that in the coming election, it will go alone and not merge with CONwallahs. That, I am sure, is annoying MT and her son because they calculated that, if TRS merges with CONmen, they will get 17 MPs from the region. The rumor is that Jagan will also merge with CONmen after the election so that CONs can get sizable support from AP to form the govt.
Jaipal, however, made a few unfortunate statements recently - that Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam belong to Telangana and he is opposed to the Polavaram project. MT can't separate Telangana without ensuring that there is no injustice done to the residual AP even if she wants to. BJP won't allow CONmen to get all the credit for the creation of Telangana (BJP all along has been in support of the division when CONmen were unsure). So, they may look for some excuse to scuttle the Telangana bill passage in parliament (CONs can't get the bill passed without BJP support). BJP may say that injustice is being done to AP in the division and vote against the bill (and may win some MPs in that region). Added to that, it is unlikely that the state Assembly will vote in support of the bill (even if the negative vote is not binding, the BJP may use it against CONs). My feeling is that it is still too early to know what will happen.
Coming back to Jaipal Reddy, in my view, he is a decent person and he will be better for Telangana than KCR or the Dalit leaders (they are all corrupt sycophants of the dynasty - one CM aspirant is building a temple for MT). He will probably do good things for the common man in Telangana.

They say he doesn't do much or help his constituents, didn't do much to the state as central minister but he is dignified doesn't get into mudslinging matches. Some say that he did much of the ground work for separate 'T' state sitting in Delhi.

I met jaipal reddy couple of times. Very decent guy. Well educated polished gentleman. He is not known to be corrupt. A knock on him is is elitist style.
Telangana would benefit if he is made the first cm.
