Kiran was, is and has always been against the division of the state and he was very vocal about it all along. Even when no one expected the second huge resistance from the Seemandhra region during the july/aug time of last year, when all the other SA leaders compromised on having the state divided, he was strong in his resistance to the division. I was in India at that time and heard from a reliable source who was personally close to Kiran, that Kiran had confided in him that he was going to resign if the state were to be divided because he doesn't want to be the CM overlooking the division and go down the history as the last CM of the AP who has done so. He will be viewed with contempt as a betrayer of SA by the current and future generations and he doesn't want that.

Even from his political stand point, supporting the division will be disastrous for him. Though born and brought up in Hyd, he can't be the CM of T after the division. He is going to be replaced by someone other T leader. And forget about being the CM of the new SA, he won't even get his deposit if he were to support the division. So yeah, all the more reason for him to resist the division. At least he'll have some political presence in SA.

That he is doing it all with the support and machinations of the center is moronic thinking. The center is not pulling him out coz it doesn't have the guts to do so. Plain and simple.

That's right! If they removed him then they're dictatorial, if they didn't they have no guts. I'd blame our own politicians from both T & SA regions for this debacle than anyone else. mana bangaram manchidaite evarno analsina pani ledu.
