India vs. America
Talk about value of life:
From what news says, happens every year.

America:

What has the title got to do with this horrific tragedy? I thought I was going to see a sport between India and America.

You didn't see any difference in how life is valued in the two countries?

There are various factors that have added to the present mindset with regards to life in both these countries. I wish one day, the infrastructure and the public awareness in India grows to the extent that we can put life ahead of everything else.
The other phenomena that highly bothers me in India is the reaction to road injuries. It is no exageration if I say that more then 30% road deaths can be prevented if medical aid had arrived at the right time.

There is a slight difference. Not all Indian deaths happen while looking for adventure. People here (particularly those on visit to Hawaii) tend to get into a lot more things in the spirit of adventure. there was a tunnel in Kauai that every year people will get struck into while on their way to exploring things. Eventually local govt. blocked the tunnel hole as they had got tired of rescue operations despite warnings posted there. The mavericks surfing contest in California claims a lot of lives but still happens every year despite precautionary warnings from Govt.

I saw the flow of water and stopped watching the video after 30s. Don't want to be haunted by real life death scenes.

Three people presumed dead after being swept over a raging waterfall in Yosemite National Park ignored warning signs and crossed a barricade to pose for photographs, a witness said Wednesday.
In addition, other hikers on the trail above the 317-foot Vernal Falls warned the group that conditions in the Merced River were treacherous.
"People come up here and they think it's Disneyland," said Jake Bibee, who says he is haunted by the look of terror in one man's eyes as he was swept over the falls clinging to his female companion.
"Everyone was screaming," Bibee, 28, said. "People were praying. What I will take away with me forever is the look on that grown man's face as he was floating down that river knowing he was going to die and nobody could help them."
The Yosemite Search and Rescue unit identified the people presumed dead as Homiz David, 22, of Modesto; Ninos Yacoub, 27, of Turlock; and Ramina Badal, 21, of Modesto.

Re: India vs. America
A 26-year-old Northern California woman fell to her death Sunday while descending the cables on the rain-slickened Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, according to news reports.
LaFlamme's death was the 14th fatality in Yosemite since January. Cobb told The Modesto Bee the park normally has between 12 and 15 deaths a year but the yearly average by the end of July is five to six.
