here goes (cricket)
Dhobi wins the toss and IND bowls. ZK to strauss. i smell an early wicket. praveen kumar is playing and he should be able to swing it under the clouds.

ENG 43/1 in 21 at lunch. although we did not get many wickets, we have tied them down. IND slightly ahead in the first session because the in-form batsman is out.

Got to get Trott out. He is like our Dravid. Can bat for days.

Re: here goes (cricket)
trott is carrying on happily. zaheer khan is not going to bowl today. that leaves us with pravin kumar who is not able to control his swing (hence predictable) and ishant sharma. i see them reaching 400 mark today if it does not rain. and then it will be advantage ENG.

Re: here goes (cricket)
we are very much screwed in this test. Mukund has feetnotmoveitis and almost got LBW twice in 6 overs that they bowled today.
With overcast morning it will be hard for these two to survive. 200 a.o I predict and follow on.

All right. Weren't we just in West Indies two weeks ago? Why are we playing Tests in England now? Don't the players need a frigging break? I do.

Re: here goes (cricket)
India looked solid when Sachin and Dravid were together and were stroking well. While England bowlers bowled fairly well, with broad and Swann excelling. All 5 wickets were sort of gifts. While Gambhir was never comfortable, Mukund played quite well but lost his wicket due to poor shot selection. Tendulkar, Laxman gifted their wickets. Raina showed his immaturity by playing that shot too early in the innings.
Self inflicted wound for India. India looked good for 300 to 400 but now is struggling to avoid fallow on. Dravid has closed shop but will he be able take india over the mark?

Tendulkar expected.... During the last decade, the guy throws away his wicket just like raina or any other player. He gives a couple of chances (at least) in his first 20/25 runs. His focus on "staying in the middle" is out of focus.
Raina - dump him... he is the batting equivalent of Laughbajan Singh. He is an experienced player at this stage and should not be batting like a newbie. VVSL - looks like he will bat only if he thought India is in deep trouble (hopefully he will do his usual job in the 2nd innings).
India needs to think radically and make its bowling effective with real match winners.

Re: here goes (cricket)
same pitch but what a difference between laughbhajan and swann! swann doesn't do fancy stuff. very traditional off spinner, bowls from close to the stumps and gives it good old rip. bhajji hops skips and jumps bowls wide off the crease and spears it in ball after ball with no imagination. his only variation is the doosra which is now defanged.
i know the first comment out of his supporters' mouth when is criticized is that he is a useful bat. so then here is a suggestion, kick raina out, promote laughbajan to his spot, bring ashwin into the team as the specialist off spinner. laughy can become the part time spinner. deal?

Re: here goes (cricket)
Laughbajan AKA Fartbhajan is good only for cheerleading role. Make him India's permanent 12th man....really.
Even Rohit is better than Raina - a total test failure. With Pandey, Tiwary, apart from Pujara, available why feel desperate with raina ? whatever happened to the twin miracles from Rajasthan? Should be tried soon at international matches instead of Srikant and Yadav's sons.

PK is the new Bhajan in batting. Time to kick out Bhajji and give Ashwin a chance. Dravid better get the century this time.

Whateva...
TenDucker's 34 is much better than Dravid's 100 and crucial in saving India from following on.
Go Sachin Go sania and Go Saina
Also Go Bhaaji.

and ENG does not waste any time on day 4. immediately start hitting 4's. piror is gone, but does that matter? broad is in now. the lead is almost 400. so, they will score another 50 and declare.
