Am tryting to understand the connection between what I wrote and what you asked?  

The irrationality of NRA is displayed through its refusal to agree to a background search supported by large majority of Americans and a significant portion of NRA members. The background check is NRA related issue.  The benefits and importance of background checks were widely known and appreciated.  I did not suggest any remedies to Dunn's particular case.

NRA does not release it membership rolls. Does not allow gun registry. Does not allow govt to computerize gun records.  Threatens people's representatives of electoral consequences at every chance.  Do these actions make them more credible?
