Although UP has 80 MPs (the highest for any Indian state) it is also true that many South Indians have become Lok Sabha MPs from UP. Two such MPs are Azharuddin and Jaya Prada who are both currently MPs in the present Lok Sabha and who are also both Telugus. This reveals the cosmopolitan mindset, and the magnanimous nature, of UPwallahs because of which Southerners can hope to win Lok Sabha elections from a northern state. Personally i am not aware of any other Indian state where someone from a distant state can stand for Lok Sabha elections and hope to win. Let us accept the fact that UP is a special state and UPwallahs are special people.
