wtf is going on with these two? I cant for the world of me understand what can justify tsla's valuation. is it a pure bubble stock now or is there something to the rumor of apple buying it? I read MS's upgrade yesterday and it's ridiculous what the guy says about it. also I sold solar city at 50, fuck...
nflx is gonna raise prices soon now that it's having to deal with paying comcast for content delivery priority but it's stock doesnt seem to care.
coming to the social networking sites, especially twtr...their UI is getting more and more ugly by the day and soon users will tire of it. I dont see where they go from here...there should be a great correction in this sector soon, maybe as early as this summer.
wish I had the clangers to short these

It's a small bet. Strike 30 .. 40 contracts.

Well you seem to have a knack for picking the put when FB was at all time high.harharmahadev wrote:Propagandhi711 wrote:harharmahadev wrote:I think Social networking is in a big bubble.

Also a correction is due and likely the puts would make money when the correction hits.
What I don't understand is why Sep, why not June 14 OR Jan 15 ?
Do you expect FB to not keep up with expectations in two quarters ?
Strike 30 and 40 contacts translates to 680$ at today's ask prices. Yesterday was probably lower.
It is a small amount.
Why not Strike 40 , why specifically Strike 30 ?
Not sure I understand the strategy here. Is it to ensure that in a say 15% downward swing, the ratio of premium from strike 45 to strike 30 is around 7 times (1.08 to av 0.10 and 0.17)
compared to ration of Strike 55 to Strike 40, which is around 3.10 to 0.55.
How does the premium decay work out. Does the time related decay of the option price work out the same for both Strike 40 as well as Strike 30, given that strike 30 is already very low, and might withstand time related reductions in quantized values of 1 cent ?

I'm usually risk averse buyer. However, after some big trades in NUGT, I've become a little more confident.
If and when there is a stock market correction, social networking stocks will fall way more than others. I'm expecting this correction to hit around mid to late March. So Ne stocks will continue to slide for a few more months and FB will probably end up in the twenties, if not teens. That's my rationale for pickin 30 puts. And the price was good.
It wasn't 680... I ended up spending $520. I wanted to keep my cost to ~$500. I usually don't play so aggressive.
Reg the time decay, that's the risk, right? If FB is at 31 in sep, my option would be worthless. Ab jo hai so hai.
