How to post in नागरी

I don't know how to do this in any browser other than Firefox. Perhaps others can describe how to do that. So first install Firefox if you don't have it.
Then go to Tools->Add-ons->Get more add-ons. Search for the keyword Padma. Pick the Padma add-on and install it. Restart Firefox when it asks you to do so. Now open the Hindi forum here, and click on NEW POST. In your subject line, start typing your Hindi text... like mErA nAm chArvAkA hai. For the notation (what to capitalize and what not to, please consult the ITRANS reference here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITRANS. After you type the text, select it and right-click; you will see Padma in the righ-click menu. Click on that, and click on "convert ITRANS to Devanagari." Your text will be converted to nAgari Unicode.

i have downloaded and installed it. however, when i highlight and right click in the box (the box i am typing in right now and that you see at the bottom of this page), i do not get the padma option (i only get cut, copy, paste). however when i type elsewhere in fox, i get the padma option upon right clicking!

why can i not see it in the bangla/bengali script? do i have to install something now?

suddenly this box that i am typing in looks changed. earlier (when i could not type in devanagari) it was expanded and had many more options than what are displayed now. significantly, the typing screen of this box is green -- earlier it was white.

oops i need a bengali script add on to read and type. any help on this score is welcome.

note: users should note that italicized "a" in the above sequence are italicized because they are sometimes optional.
for example. च is spelled cha
however, when using च in a word, for example, in चीनी (sugar), चीनी would be spelled chInI and not chaInI.

Correct. The a is required only to have an unmodified-by-another-vowel form of that letter.
