Obviously both Kamaraj and Modi had/have translators to help them when they were giving their speeches. However in the case of Kamaraj the Biharis probably had genuine respect for the Tamil leader, while in the case of Modi his new found popularity amongst some Tamils in TN is probably largely because of the money-media generated 'Modi wave'.

Kamaraj spoke in his mother tongue.
Modi did not. He spoke in a language which is neither his mother tongue nor a language Tamil Nadu understood and OPPOSED its imposition.

Leave Kamaraj alone. He was a patriotic INDIAN, not a traitor like LTTE terrorists who brought a bad name to Tamils.

The greater fighters do not necessarily win because there are other factors that determine the outcome of battles.
