It seems that you need to do some homework before commenting on Tamil issues. Ethnically Sri Lankan Tamils and Tamil Nadu Tamils are the same people. But for example, Tamil Muslims and the Pakistani Muslims are not from the same ethnicity. According to your logic, the Indian Hindus should support the Sri Lankan Tamils because over whelming majority of the Lankan Tamils are ardent Hindus.

The main difference is Indian muslims were given a large piece of land called Pakistan to migrate to. Those who left became pakistanis and those who "chose" to stay behind became Indian muslims. Naturally, these two are not expected to support each other.

Then there is the LARGE third segment - the ones who wanted to go but "could not". These are the ones yearning and dreaming about the unseen "land of the pure" and acting as Pakistan's agents - at least suspected by most hindus (with the exception of 5 SUCHers).
