Swamy has done an admirable job exposing corruption and filing PILS etc. We should thank him for getting Raja and Kanimozhi jailed.

But the man is unreliable and talks too much. Modi is better off without him.

Modi should do whatever is good for India (remember the phrase - whatever is good for Israel?). He has complete freedom and is not beholden to anybody, since the people gave BJP absolute majority in the Lok Sabha. As for who is best for what, Modi should take a leaf out of Britain's book; Churchill's party lost the election after winning the war; it (and he) was considered bad for peace time. Recent example is Kejriwal. He was good at bringing awareness of corruption and and an expression of abhorrence for it, but he failed utterly when given executive power.

Modi could ask Swami to live in 10 Janpath, the previous residence for Indian P.M. That way Swami can be an important person, even a minister, without undertaking the regular ministerial duties. Moreover, he will get very close to the seat and power base of Govt. (all the Govt. offices / depts. are in the vicinity of 10 Janpath) ... thus able to even create mischief and  interfere in the affairs of Govt.

Because of its important location in the middle of Govt. offices and Depts. and other seats of power, perhaps the best use for 10 Janpath, previously the Indian P.M.'s official residence, is either to restore it as the P.M.'s official residence again or turn it into a museum.

At best he might get some non-cabinet position, Mainly for his Chinese expertise and anti-dynastic views. But, he is no MP and is not likely to get any ministerial position. Besides he is 74.
