DELHI — The Indian government promised the world a $35 laptop a year
ago. In a few weeks it will deliver, said Kapil Sibal, minister for
human resource development.

“All the naysayers will be
unpleasantly surprised,” Mr. Sibal said during an interview in his New
Delhi office. He said he already has a version of the dirt-cheap laptop.
What’s it look like?

Well, unfortunately, it was at home, not in the office, he said. “I must be able to work on it.”

This has been going on since about 5 or 6 years. First someone said windows will be soon gone because he invented something. Now this laptop has been in news. Too much of publicity without even showing a damn thing. Oh yeah, he has one at home? Why did not he wait till he got home before opening his mouth? It won't take more than an hour to reach his home. Does it? Or he could summon someone to bring it and *THEN* talk about it.

Methinks it is a complete hogwash.
