A judge in Anantapur local court has issues an arrest warrant against Dhobi for appearing in this ad and offending the sensibilities of the Hindu religion. Case was filed by a VHP'ite.

it appears that it is not the ad but that is how that magazine depicted him. How is he responsible if some magazine paints him like that ?

A judge in Anantapur local court has issues an arrest warrant against Dhobi (washerman?) for appearing in this ad and offending the sensibilities of the Hindu religion. Case was filed by a VHP'ite.

Dhobi shouldn't let any magazine post his pic. like this as a promotional gimmick. He has a legal case against the magazine. If he does not sue the magazine, then he can be seen as colluding with it in its promotion while even undermining the sentiments of some people / community.

Good point Sevaji. I wish the magazine had not used the religious angle here. They could have just used a pic of Dhobi dressed in royal clothes and called him "the king of deals" or something like that. Would they dare to depict Dhobi as Jesus or Allah and use the headline "The prophet of profits"? I don't think so.

He probably agreed and got paid to have his picture posted like this by the magazine. He is as much to blame as the magazine itself for this controversy.
