the reason Obamalu is bombing ISIS is bcz the minorities are Christians apart from the economic, military, geographical reasons.
Like jinnah ji said blood is thicker than water. all the reasons you gave and others dont matter when it involves people of same race, language and religion.
The same logic will not apply to africa, Japan, muslim countries, Turkey India. population and immigrant Sizes, influence and racial commonality matter.
You are the Musalman lover and worshipper and you should know better. Anyway,
The ancient religion is rumoured to have been founded by an 11th century Ummayyad sheikh, and is derived from Zoroastrianism (an ancient Persian faith founded by a philosopher), Christianity and Islam.....Reports of violence, repression and murder by Isis and other extremist groups have become increasingly prevalent in Iraq. Christians have also been targeted for their faith. The country’s largest Christian city was all but abandoned on Thursday, as Isis advanced through minority communities in the north-west.
What was the religion of the guy who was forced to covert to Islam and then beheaded?..???
What is it about your favorite peaceful religion....Convert and Behead...Convert and Rape OR is it Rape and Convert?

Then why were you suggesting that US made its moves only bcz of Christian minorities in that region. Obama did mention about "genocide" of ethnic minorities, did you miss that?

CD sir,
some people have a habit of choosing only facts that support their case. There are christians and yazidis in iraqi mountain refugees. Obama is not shy in announcing that he is intending to save christians and yazidis. So as we discussed these strikes are not all purely altruistic. That may hurt your secular narrative but that is the fact.

Agree... BJP has a very long way to go to be on par with Cong(i) in communalism and impossible to become like iSlamic parties. After all, one killed some 10,000 Sikhs and the otehr killed some 100 million hindus over 1000 years.

That is a perfect example of diverting topic. The issue is related to basis of US decision. Is the standard of US secularism set by a developing country's right wing party? What is relevance?
The lesson here is that countries take their culture, religion , and politics into consideration as they major decisions. US decisions support Israel long term is based on their deep held biblical belief. Europe and UK act in similar way. US foreign policy will be more aggressive when christian interests are under pressure. More examples: Sudan

the biblical thing is overplayed in this thread. american misadventures in vietnam and north korea had nothing to do with religion.

Re: Obama authorizes airstrikes in Iraq
Did you forget that Obama wanted to bomb Syria, what were the basis for that? No one is saying that the US doesn't have biases but not necessarily tied to a particular religion, more to do with its foreign policies. BTW, Europe wanted no part of Jews thus dumped them promptly (out of Europe).truthbetold wrote:CD,confuzzled dude wrote:I'm sorry but the USA is no communal like the BJP, and will never be; however much you guys try to spin.truthbetold wrote:CD sir,

Re: Obama authorizes airstrikes in Iraq
Lawmakers weighed in on U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq this week, with Democrats supporting the president's agenda of limited involvement while Republicans said more action is needed to stop militants who threaten the United States.
"Only Iraq can save Iraq," Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is so much that we can do to help the Iraqis help themselves, but ultimately, they have to save their own country."
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) dismissed the notion that Iraq could handle the situation itself. "We need to go on offense," he said "Fox News Sunday." "There is no force within the Mideast that can neutralize or contain or destroy ISIS without at least American air power."
Both Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) called for an escalation in U.S. involvement. McCain told CNN's "Meet the Press" that the United States should expand airstrike targets to include Islamic State elements in Syria, and provide training and supplies to those fighting against the militants, while King said on "Meet the Press" that the United States must do "whatever we have to do" to stop the Islamic State.
"ISIS is a direct threat to the United States of America," King said. "They are more powerful now than al-Qaeda was on 9/11." Republicans, including King, attributed the rise of the Islamic State to failure on the part of the Obama administration.

Really. What a brilliant response! Did I say anywhere that US foreign policy is driven only by religion.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:the biblical thing is overplayed in this thread. american misadventures in vietnam and north korea had nothing to do with religion.
Straitjacket thinking causes such mental lapses.

US national interests make up of many factors. Among them anti communism, keeping trade routes open, us business interests, and us cultural and religious interests are parts. No body is saying US is solely guided by religion. Not even iran or saudi arabia can live like that. I am just trying to clarify that so called secular nations are also driven by their own religious compulsions.

Looks like Maliki doesn't want to step down. Biden & Kerry are trying hard to persuade him; this is only going to get worse.
