is it time for dhoni and coach to go?
The indian team performed poorly from 2011 in every overseas series. Earlier the excuse was old age. That pushed out all senior performers. In came new talent. Young fielders did well and India recovered on indian soil. Then came a series of overseas tours leading to an up and down performances of batsmen and bowlers.
It is somewhat clear india does not have good fast bowlers who can bowl on many of these pitches. But on occasion they did well in helpful conditions. India is supposed to be spin bowling country. Indian spinners cannot get even one or two wickets in most tests.
Batsmen showed some promise in SA but lost momentum by NZ and hit bottom in england.
4th test loss should rank as one of the worst ever for India. It is disheartening because, these are india's best batsmen and future of the indian cricket.
Srinivasan's influence saved dhoni after twin tour disaster. Now he will save dhoni till 2015 world cup.
I think a swift overhaul at the top is required in overseas test setting. Both captain and coach must go at the end of this series. Dhoni the WK may continue as he seems to be in decent form.

it's time for the BCCI administration to go. not dhoni and the coach. sack the whole lot of them and hire saurav ganguly as the BCCI chief and messers dravid, laxman, kumble, and mohinder amarnath to important posts. all will be well with indian cricket within two years.
and please don't let ravi shastri, gavaskar, and krishnamachari srikkanth anywhere near indian cricket or cricketers.

In an away series India is trailing by 1-2, with one more test match to go. So let's wait until the series is over. Would you want Dhoni to go if India draws the series. These are rebuilding pains one got to be a bit patient.

i agree, but that doesn't solve the deeper malaise with the BCCI administration. every time i see a picture of n.srinivasan it makes me so angry. why is this jowly idiot who has nothing to do with cricket allowed to wield so much power?

It is easy to clean a simple ditch. But the cricket affairs in India are approaching Couvum level.

I don't think it will help. Except for a brief period when luckily some great batsmen and bowlers came together , India was always weak in overseas matches. And with the IPL culture now in place, things will only get worse.

He should have been fired at the end of Australia. Not only he lost 8 tests but also ruined a good team comradarie by destroying the morale of Sehwag, Gambhir, and Yuvraj and starting an internecine war.
Worse case is Srini Bonda corruption and favoritism kept Dhoni artificially as India's captain.

Isn't Dravid a batting consultant for this series? It is sad to see the batting becoming a complete no show.

Re: is it time for dhoni and coach to go?
At this point Dhoni may not be the problem. But captain dhoni is not the solution. So is the coach. This is now 5 th series loss against world powers of similar stature. What is galling in this loss is the lack of will to fight. Strike rate was 60 during the second innings while wickets were lost. That shows a reckless or clueless approach.
Obviously Indian talent is shallow at this point. But lack of effort has no excuse. Leadership must take responsibility. Either they get rid of weak performers or they msut go to allow someone else try something different.
