i don't think he was ever that enthused by test cricket.
and some of the terrible away losses since 2011 can at least in part be attributed to his excessively defensive captaincy.

the Comptroller and Minister of Indian Cricket should bring a muslim like Mohammed Azharuddin back into the team, so that the average consumption of meat per day by the team increases.

He probably made enough money and with IPL there is no point going through this grind, especially for a glovesman. Also, I think too much cricket is to be blamed too, burned him out. Going forward, we probably won't see 30+ year olds playing test cricket.

He should have been kicked out after the 0-8 debacles abroad but his godfather kept him in to protect his brand value.

he is the best we have right now and the only one besides vijay whose place in the team is assured. i think he'll be a good captain. hope captaincy doesn't screw up his form. we need a keeper though. who will it be -- saha or will DK be given another go?

Kohli's hot temper is a concern but he is a terrrific player. Maybe we need someone with fire for a change. Dhoni looks tired lately.

Kohli's ascendancy spelt the end of Dhoni's power. (kind of Yelsten and Gorbachev).

Dhaoni did the right thing by stepping down now to allow kohli to get in. Makes the last test little interesting in a dead series.

Dhoni and fletcher should have been fired after 2011 england series. At least after 2011 Australian series. Then he should have retired after 2011 world cup from captaincy.

Indian bowling is short of talent but Dhoni's defensive tactics may have not helped bowlers to learn. India better focus on its bowling resources and develop a pool of 15 fast and spin bowlers of world class. None of the bowlers seem to learn and improve and grow in international game after making initial impact to get into team.

It would be sad to see shami, yadav, and varun to wander along without honing their skills to match the challenges of varied international grounds and batting talent. Anil Kumble for bowling coach?

Why Dhoni should be banned from Indian cricket forver..

Quite possible Rahane - if he plays like this for 2 or 3 years - could end up as the Captain (or Pujara). Both have the a calmer head.

Hopefully, Anushka will be luckier for Kholi than Mrs. Dhoni was for Dr. Dhoni.
