Ginger/Cardamom Tea with home made Murukku. (box containing 25 murukku is almost empty within 36 hours along with 8 cups of tea (36 hours) so far. Credit goes to Sleet/Ice/Snowy weather in Texas.

a fantastic highland malt - glen garioch founders reserve. picked up a 750 ml bottle for $36 which i think is a fantastic price for this fabulous single malt. going to load up on a couple of more bottles. had company yesterday with a nose for the good stuff, and the fellas worked through much of my little bottle. connoisseurs like daruwala please make a note and pick some up next time you are in the UK or the US or passing through heathrow. i am going to guess that this is soon going to be unaffordable. that's what happened to highland park 12 years which i used to get for under $40 some years ago. it's now north of $60. i have a rule that for a weekly sipping whisky i am not going to fork out more than $40.

my very dependable local liquor store guy points me from time to time to brews that they brew rarely and then never again after doing it once. this one was nectar from the gods. still relatively recent, so you may be able to find it in your local shelves. (warning: this is a seriously boozy beer and i think has a high alcohol content. so plan not to be driving after consuming this).

also been drinking various malbecs recently. about the only wine i can truly "identify" as having a distinct taste. has become my favorite. picked up a big ass bottle of conchay toro malbec at my local wegmans and slowly working through it. very nice for a huge bottle for $7.99.

something between an IPA and a lager. very hoppy, but not unbearably bitter. this is a very drinkable beer. i had visited the brewery in the bay area during christmas break and tried this as part of a 15 beer tasting experience. liked it then, but it sort of melded with the other beers i was having. good to get a six pack and work through it slowly.
