He is done like Bradman who could never get his 100 average in his life. $kar got his 99.5 with his last 50 in tests and he is done, methinks. Like the Don, he will have to call it a day without the 100. Good riddance for team India. Time for fresh blood ;-)

It is sad that the 100th century hasn't happened yet and team India has been comprehensively outplayed in the entire series. Defeats like these underscore the pointlessness of individual milestones. The temptation of signing off with 99 to have an "imperfect" ending like the Don's may have crossed Tendulkar's mind atleast briefly. But he will get that 100th hundred sooner or later. If he gets it in this series it will be the only "bright spot" in this disaster of a campaign. The Indian media will gloat over it and conveniently sweep the disastrous series score under the carpet.

BCCI announced today that a 3 test series over a 3 week period has been decided between Indian and Zimby cricket board. The Indian team will play the series on its way back from England.

tendulkar has disappointed in this tour. he scores 0/10 for the series so far. he was stroking the ball well from the first test, but has not made it count. come to think of it, barring dravid, every other batsman has disappointed. in bowling, kumar and sharma took wickets, but sreesanth has disappointed. and let's face it: ENG has played much better cricket. after winning the world cup, IND perhaps does not have that hunger any more.

Someone was saying that Satya Sai Baba's death affected him deeply, Being an ardent follower of Baba, he is so deflated that he can't concentrate on batting.

I doubt it. He is going through a bad phase and that's that.

Did he not score a 100 at the 1999 WC after he lost his dad during that period?

i doubt that. that did not stop him from selling his ferrari (which, btw, was gifted to him). and he was enjoying English summer at Wimbledon and what not. Just a bad phase, that's all.
