Recently a Manipuri student was brutally attacked in Bangalore by some Kannadigas:

The reason for the assault was that the Manipuri did know Kannada. In my opinion people like Max are indirectly responsible for these kind of attacks since they preach and propagate language based chauvinism. If the Manipuri did know Kannada or did not want to learn Kannada the language fanatics are free to not communicate with the Manipuri. But what is this junglee behavior of assaulting a person physically because he does not know your language? Deep down I wonder whether Max felt happy when he read about the assault on the Manipuri. After all the Kannadiga attackers were only taking the linguistic fanaticism preached by Max to its natural conclusion i.e. physically attacking anyone who did not know or did not wish to know their language.

People are calling this racism. This is NOT racism. This is just linguistic fanaticism propagated by some 3rd class guys. I am not from NE but I am sure these goons would have hit me for not knowing Kannada if I was there in place of the NE kids.

I moved to Bangalore from Vadodara. Vadodara had and still has a large South indian community because of IPCL, Refinery, GSFC and other large companies. Guys from South India lived their whole lives there without knowing Gujarati. Best they could do is broken Hindi. Not once we heard a similar case.
