an apple a day. I am too old for a doctor.

someone at work been going apple picking, so they dump a bagful by the water cooler. very different apples from what you get in the stores, but a good snack when you are hungry and want to fill up.

wow, good for you.

slacking, just TWO today: a banana and a pear.
my goal is to start cutting table sugar out as much as I can over the next couple of weeks and eat natural sugars only from now.

Fruits+veggies:

one banana, a small bunch of grapes and a bowl of salad (glad I preferred a salmon salad to a calzone in the plane)

i saw you got a four and so i kept telling myself i gotta reach that number too, it was very motivating -  but my fruit score today is THREE:

i had pineapple as well - two servings. ive gotten into t he habit of freezing the pineapple chunks and they end up tasting like an Italian ice that way. it's awesome. also lots of fiber and fluid, vits a and c and minerals. couldn't ask for a better fruit. you should try to have it frozen sometime in place of ice cream, you may like it.

and then i made a smoothie which contained berries and a banana but I've only had half of it - so i counted it as one fruit.

i may have posted my  very special smoothie recipe in the past, but i'll post it again later when i'm, less sleepy. it's the only smoothie i make but it's very complete.

your fruit score is only TWO. bad girl, you're slacking! wrinkles, skin spots, falling hair, poor vision, dementia, and obesity are all just around the corner, kinny-amma.

Did you wash your mouth with soap and Ganges water? Is that why you are no longer claiming that my mother has been raped and pimped?

oh I had to look them up. The rambutan is like a lychee, and the jabuticaba is from brazil, it looks like a plum without a pit. you must shop at WFs where all the richies shop. it's too bad we don't respect some of the things in nature and eat them as they are. for instance the jabuticaba is available as a jam, jelly and even an ice cream. it seems to have anti-cancer properties which is good. I'm always on the look-out for those kinds of things.

i'm the dowry-giving gender, bittu, so I can't afford this fancy stuff.

unrelated to all of this: i'm filled with sadness when i come to such nowadays and when i think of its impending demise. there's too much mean-spirited fighting.  of course i had behaved badly also when I was here a month ago and i wish i had been less angry and that i had not used foul language or hurt people although my views on the topic continue to remain the same. i think potentially one way to rescue such is by talking about food more and posting pictures of our cooking. last month i started to learn how to cook and it has been very relaxing and rather wonderful to eat at home and take care of myself. maybe vidya bhagchi or someone can give us instructions on how to post pics.
