Re: who all have watched sholay?
to me the only good thing abt sholay was that song mehbooba mehbooba. rest was something I could fast forward. maybe ppl that watched those movies back in the 70s in a theater have fond memories and such.

Re: who all have watched sholay?
once when i was dining in hotal nagarjuna in bangalore (residency road opp. taj's gateway hotel), i came across "sholay kebabs" in their menu. i ordered it. now nagarjuna is a very fast movng andhra-cuisine restaurant and they have only 15/20 items on the menu (ones that they have, owing to customer demand, decided are the fastest moving). the sholay kebabs were delectable cubes of tandoor-cooked chicken. i understood that "sholay" was probably a mispelling of "shole" (though i have never come across any "shole" kebabs elsewhere). but sholay seemed apt. and "sholay" is also a misspelling of "shole." in any case, this is what gabbar singh would have been eating in his spartan hiedout in the hills.
btw, i also tasted hyderabadi biryani in nagarjuna. hyyderabadi biryani (or nagarjuna biryani) is the best kind of biryani in the vaarld.

Re: who all have watched sholay?
I am shocked that this question is being asked seriously.
The question should have been - how many times have you watched sholay...or when was the last time you watched sholay. Not have you watched sholay.

Re: who all have watched sholay?
yes. you might want to watch it from home. it's the song diye jalte hain from namak haram featuring AB (not another brick) and RK.

Re: who all have watched sholay?
arnab (chief mod. in anothersubcontinent.com) had once posted this video in his forum and then wondered aloud: why haven't we moved with the times? diye kyun jalte hain? motor kyun nahi jalte in this song?

To my everlasting shame, I've read all three. I do agree with Propa on this - I've no clue why GWTW is viewed as some cult classic.

Gabbar: Ye haath mujhe dede thakur
Thakur: Lele mere hath lele, Basanti ke bhi lele, Jay or Veeru, tum bhi dedo, , DURGA MATA ban ja sale!
Gabbar: Sorry yaar, tu to naraz hi ho gaya.

no wonder he looked grim throughout the movie and carried a red cloth with him all the time.

I watched it a long time ago and one thing I remember is that I was very disturbed by the scene where some guy waves his armless sleeves in the end, making some dramatic speech as well (?). I also recall a song involving a scooter (or was it a bike?) with a side-car that detaches and attaches itself.

That doesn't count. You need to watch it again.
Re: who all have watched sholay?
Is that the song that goes "ye dosti, ham nahin chodenge" and so on? I have seen that song, and it looks gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.blabberwock wrote:]I also recall a song involving a scooter (or was it a bike?) with a side-car that detaches and attaches itself.Huzefa Kapasi wrote:please type "yessir" if you have.

precisely. but then, to be fair, the song makes it clear for the listeners. yeh dosti, hum nahi chhodengay, chhodengay dum magar, tera saath na chhodengay.
