This young team did not yet prove they can beat odds to change history. My hope is they go down fighting. Do not like to see 120 all out.

Match well poised. Indian batsmen played positive cricket, gritty innings from Murali Vijay. Pujara was shaping the ball well before he got out. We need a big one from Murali or Kohli to see India through.

Agreed. Rohit what a what of space, needed a 20 from him today, not more. It looked so easy at one point. Even Kohli could have done a Laxman and let the tail play than throwing his wicket away.

Rohit was a total disaster. Rahane played poorly but also unlucky to be given out.
Saha seem to have the tight technique.
Vijay fought through his weakness and played a very sensible inninigs.
kohli played a magnificient innings. Probably the best in recent years.

They could have won the match if rahane or rohit stayed around.

Very disappointing to see the match end like this but this is still a creditable performance from India. They fell short but atleast they got this far.

For next test, keep saha, bring in dhoni in place of rohit (if supreme court does not problems), get ashwin, and let kohli run the show.

Lyons beat India. It is only going to get worse with faster and bouncier pitches. Lower order should contribute more with ball and bat.

My prediction is still 4-0. 1st test India is in the game because of declarations and Kohli and Vijay. Is any one else going to going to show up in future tests?

India simply cannot afford to play 5 batsmen + 1 keeper + 5 bowlers who cannot take 20 wickets nor score 20 runs together.

They can play only TWO pure bowlers. All other bowlers should be able to score 25 to 50 runs.

A good team wins the matches that are in its grasp.

In short, India snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Indians did well to cope with Aussie high bounce fast bowling 135 to 145 avg speeds (no swing).

Lyons bowled magnificent. You can him getting his wickets much before he actually got them. Vijay and kohli were also troubled by his spin and turn but fought through that. Rest of the gang Pujara, rahane, rohit did not find the solution. Tailenders did not have a chance against lyons or fast bowling.

Loss of Vijay spelled the end of Indian innings.

The problem is kohli and vijay cannot carry India in every innings and in every test. Rest of the team should wake up and contribute.

And Indians are "supposed" to be the best players of spin ? Not only India has the ability to develop hood spin bowers, they have lost the ability to even develop batsmen who could handle spin bowling.

What a Joke.

With India playing 5 Batsmen wonly - with at least 2 wrong decisions in every match - it has no chance. India should play 9 batsmen with just 2 fast bowlers. Murali, Nohit, Pujara can fill in as spinners.

Give Aussies credit, they kept attacking, never turned defensive or set negative fielding and bore fruits of it. I'm afraid, for India, it's all downhill from here, we probably have seen the best of them already.

I hate what you said but it is likely to happen. Aussies stuck to their plan and even their commentators were sure that once a breakthrough comes, australia will win. Lyon stuck to his line despite giving up several runs.

Who is there as a backup to replace Rohit? raina? did they take that you guy from Karnataka?
