May he will be as enthusiastic criticizing his govt's policies & penchant for rubbing shoulders with these bad actors. This has been a mutation that a lot of work has been put into. Governments, from the Sunni side the Saudi government, on the Shia side the Iranian government, have been putting fortunes of money into making sure that extremist mullahs are preaching in mosques around the world, and in building and developing schools in which a whole generation is being educated in extremism—and trying to prevent other forms of education.”

Yeah, Comrade. When the issue is Islamic terrorism, let's bring in unrelated topics so we can establish an equivalence and give it a free pass.

Re: bill maher shares more opinions on islam
People like Bill Maher would have thrived in old India. It was quite common to make fun of "Gods" in traditional India. Krishna was made fun of by several characters in Mahabharata. Vishnu was told off by Durwasa and Shiva was called not very complimentary names. Shankara indulged in an open discussion with Buddhists and Hindus. He, in turn, was criticized by people of his native village.
Unfortunately, cultures that came into India from outside created conservative and insecure attitudes. While women and men used to proudly show off their bodies in traditional India, after monomaniacs barged in, they started to cover their boobs, head, etc.
The young generation is already questioning the cultural aspects that were acquired after the 7th century and are showing some pride in positive aspects of the native culture. Sikularists will gradually die off.

Unrelated?! He is the suggesting that these two states are the prime reason & are spreading extremism. Why can't he ask his govt to introduce sanctions and put a ban on buying oil from them? I'm tired of these terrorist activities and am ready to pay $15-20 per gasoline (and many will agree with me) if the USA is willing to take tough stand on the state actors sponsoring terrorism.Hellsangel wrote:confuzzled dude wrote:May he will be as enthusiastic criticizing his govt's policies & penchant for rubbing shoulders with these bad actors. This has been a mutation that a lot of work has been put into. OK. We have sanctions against Iran, a state sponsor of Hezbollah. How is that working out for Hezbollah?

Comrade, are you trying to say that the sanctions reformed Hezbollah and made them see the error of their ways, thanks to this statement?

Echhuneni, the price we pay would be minuscule compared to the bill we're footing in the form of exorbitant sums of budget allocated to military industrial complexPropagandhi711 wrote:confuzzled dude wrote:Unrelated?! Then Rushdie, The Satanic Verses author who is, of course, no stranger to death threats from Muslims, reiterated that the fight was “within Islam” and that the U.S. was just a “sideshow.”

Blather is what you resort to when you got nothing substantial to add to any discussion, which is the norm for you given your short attention span

maher's views about terrorism seem sophomoric. rushdie's is more informed, and well considered. he is right in asserting that the greatest battle in islam is the internal struggle.
