There are those who declare mdoi is a failure even before he started.
Then there are those who find him not so intelligent because he is a north indian.
Then there are merlot sipper who will say it is limpwristed breast beating irrespective of content.
Find the full text of his speech and read. Then comment.

Modi's critics don't look to the future; they look backwards.
Just imagine why everything is named after Neguru, Indira, Rajiv!
They are like iSlamists who shun the future (it is forbidden) and tightly embrace the past (the 7th century). They also think that Sikular CONmen are the "chosen people" and Chaddis are like kafirs and infidels who should be punished for thinking differently (worshipping the devil!).
If the Sikularists come back to power, will everything be named after Pappu, Vadra and Sonia?????
Hmm.....

So when it came down to it, there wasn't one new thing you could point out in that speech. And yet you thought it was worth a 500-word essay glorifying a politician.

I think your criticism is not warranted. Yes! Many of the points had been made earlier. But the speech was apt for the audience, because it was a very focused speech, where he outlined key salient points without beating around the bush. He went by each sector and covered most of them.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Why, TBT, what did he say here that he has not said earlier? What is it that made your hair stand at end and haha..awakened you?
I thought, the new points that he mentioned were these.
a) This is the first time he has talked about doing both small things and big things.
Earlier he used to focus on doing small things. He has fine tuned his
approach to say both are needed. He gave good examples of the same.
b) He has re-iterated that subsidies will continue.
(he said it twice, so essentially he is signaling that
he will be focused on the poor and disadvantaged, while pursuing growth)
c) Using the infrastructure of sparsely used (Optical fibers) Railway stations
for skill development centres is something I had not heard before.
d) He has specifically talked about the achievement of the government in
controlling Non-Oil inflation.
e) He has talked about the dream of a Lofty goal of 20 Trillion Dollars, and goaded folks to think Big.
f) He outlined clear plans for improving power situation
1) Plans to take the help of Nepal and Bhutan for developing the power situation in India.
2) At the same time, focus on renewables
3) Referred to unshackling of coal sector, which would help the Idle Thermal power plants
g) He outlined his commitment to focus on health and hinted that government could be involved
in providing health insurance in some way. Again not heard from him earlier.
h) He also indicated that he is going to maintain a tight leash on spending. I did not hear this
explicitly stated before. At the same time he hinted that spending is going to
increase in education and health sectors
i) He has explicitly referred to using bank accounts as the base of the pyramid for
Increased savings rate. Had not heard this earlier. I know it was meant for financial
inclusion and transferring subsidies to remove leakages, but not as a vehicle to
increase savings rate. It is actually a good move, since India has fallen behind China
on household savings.
j) Massive program to use digitization and technology to Revamp PDS

Unkil, you are the dodger. You probably heard him for the first time and came here to announce your accomplishment. Just fyi, it was a rehash of all his earlier bhaashans. Only a congenital sucker like you (and follow diarrheaist, Rawmotions) would swoon over this stale stuff.truthbetold wrote:Md

Wimpy, why twist in wind to find frivolous inanity instead of responding directly?
