Hyderabad after bifurcation Empty Hyderabad after bifurcation

Post by truthbetold Sun Jul 05, 2015 6:01 am

I spent some time in Hyderabad recently.

Traffic:
It is as chaotic as before bifurcation.  But it is moving.
Traffic lights were taken out from less important locations.  It is a free for all at those locations but traffic jams are absent.
Volume of traffic on many key arteries seem to have gone down or stabilized.  Traffic around Secretariat seems to have stabilized. Traffic around Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills seems about the same.  Himayat Nagar and Ameerpet traffic seem to have gone down a bit.
One reason could be the completion of several flyovers and other road construction activities. Another reason is the exodus of many andhra people. There is no way to nail down the core causes.

Real estate:
Better than 2013 and 2014.  Some activity in buying and selling. Most of it near the developed areas of city.
Number of transactions have not reached close to the peaks around 2008 and 2009.
Prices are still down by 20 to 30% from peak but better than last year.
Flats (apartments) in more demand than plots.

KCR:
To the surprise of many of his opponents, he is relatively healthy and active.
He is hitting the rights notes for the people of Telangana.
Power situation is tolerable and improving.
Irrigation looks to optimistic.
Revenue from Hyderabad made T state revenue surplus state (according to T state).
Anti TDP and Anti CBN rhetoric is high.
Anti Andhra rhetoric comes out in bursts but frequency is somewhat reduced.

New industries:
Lot of announcements but who knows what will come to fruition.
But in the long term, Hyderabad will continue to attract traditional and IT industries.
Hyd may not see the growth rates of past decades but it is continuing to thrive and grow.

Andhra Pradesh:
Capital growth is constrained by huge spurt in land prices.  Speculators are hurting the city by being extremely greedy.

Limited revenues are going to haunt AP state for years to come.

Modi govt hurt AP's ability to push the state as an attractive tax alternative by messing up budget allocations.  This was done for BIhar and UP election needs but the damage to AP is huge. Lack of central support cost state few projects.

Despite CBN's efforts, AP will remain a weak Industrialized state.

Thanks to Sonia's selfish agenda and poorly executed bifurcation, AP is condemned for a decade of obscurity.

Hyderabad after bifurcation Empty Re: Hyderabad after bifurcation

Re: Hyderabad.

Actually, the pre-bifurcation worries are more or less shown to be overblown. Property values may not increase at the same pace as in other upcoming places. But, this may be a blessing in disguise. If Hyderabad is viewed as an affordable place to work, it will attract professionals from across the country. Hopefully, KCR will maintain a sane attitude and won't bark nonsense. I heard that his daughter has changed her ways. His nephew is still talking rubbish.

Re: AP.

It is unfortunate that all ministers in the AP govt. have properties in Hyderabad and live there. So, they don't vigorously complain about the way the residuary state of AP is being treated. The people of AP also seem to be rather passive when ti comes to dealing with the indifferent attitude of the Modi govt. I agree that AP will take a long time to catch up. I hope the ministers all move their families out of Hyderabad and start thinking about the future of the state.

In my case, the property I have in Hyderabad has somewhat recovered its value. The ancestral property we have in Guntur dist., however, has gone up in value in unbelievable ways.

Really? This is far from the truth. AP regions were neglected since 1956 because of the obsession with Hyderabad. Even infrastructure was not attended to. The song this guy sings is because of the rubbish that their political leaders were peddling since the days of Chenna Reddy. Northern Kosta and Seema were the really neglected and backward areas.

Among the brothers, the one that is being pushed out of the house is AP, not Telangana. His kind of Telangana rhetoric should be stopped.

Here is a more appropriate song to depict how Andhras should feel:

The real pittala dora is now their CM.

In Krishna and Guntur, if someone behaves like a dora, he will be put in a picchi asupatri by the locals.

did you hear the word "bifurcation" for the first time in your life from your social studies teacher, ramaNamurthy-sir of guNTur, in connection with the partition of colonial india into india and pakistan? was surr proud of his use of a long english word, and did he "bifurcate" thereafter at every possible opportunity?

here, dear soothbesold, is a challenge for you: write about the topic of this thread without using the word "bifurcation" even once.
