Who chooses Politics in India?

If the most intelligent choose IIT or AIIMs, who chooses Politics in India?
Have U ever wondered as to who chooses Politics in India, as a career?
The brightest who want to "serve the nation" might choose IAS or IPS or IFS, UPSC, or even Armed forces, but what kinds are choosing Politics in the last few decades?
What is their background, mindset?
Who are these people, who say - I want to be a politician, when I grow up?
Just who are these people, coming from our society?
Any insights, please?

Politicians to go thru psychological Test?

Hmm. If I was poor in studies, but had a powerful dad, and so was egoistic enough to order around.
I'd be in politics, because of course I cannot crack IIT, or IAS, let alone finish my High School with any honors, but still want to have my power.
Either the above, or I had power of the muscle, of course after failing my 7th grade.
Such people come to control a lot of IAS or IITians in India.
Fine - Dont have the test like U have for IAS, or IPS, or even Doctors or Engineers, but do U think its reasonable to have a basic test for politicians to prove their patriotism?
