Now even India's economy is slowing down

Once upon a time, there were four mighty emerging economies that would drive global growth for the rest of the 21st century.

A slowdown in the biggest, China, has already trashed the two smaller ones, Russia and Brazil, by collapsing the prices for commodities such as oil, iron ore and coal. But economists had consoled themselves until recently that at least the fourth of the so-called BRIC nations, India, was still performing well, under the leadership of a reform-minded, business-friendly Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Even that assumption is starting to look a little bold now, as activity in the manufacturing sector of the world’s largest democracy fell to its lowest level in seven months in September, according to a survey published Wednesday.

Research firm Markit’s monthly purchasing managers’ index for the country fell to a seven-month low of 51.2 last month, from 52.3 in August.

Hmmm.. Is feku failing to cook the numbers as he did in Gujarat? Isn't the slump in manufacturing sector known for months?

hahaha I thought you have been claiming all along that India's Feku economy was in the doldrums.

If UPA or MMS or god forbid Pappu had been in power, India's economy would have matched that of Greece.

Looks like what UPA has accomplished in 10 years has been destroyed in 10 months.

ypu are wrong. Whatever UPA achieved in 10 yeaes (91 - 01), it destroyed in the next 10 years (02-12), and burried it deeper in the next 2 years (2012-2014)

Must be Pappu who is peddling this bullshit! Indian voters were smart to throw the bastards out in 2014. Otherwise, just as S Korea, Japan and China marched ahead of India in the past, Malawi, Burundi and Central African Republic will leave India behind in the next decade.
