this is kinda like how the GOP came up with welfare reform during the clinton/gingrich era and clinton made it his signature accomplishment.

i wonder why in gubernatorial races in the future, democratic candidates in states where the GOP governor has refused to expand medicaid won't simply show up and say, "look at how other states are doing, and look at where we are because of the GOP's obstinate idiocy. vote for me and we'll get it done tomorrow".

G.O.P. apparently stands for "Give Only to Private" because if the government gets into the insurance business in helping those without healthcare, mainly the poor, it doesn't sit well for a party that supports the private insurance lobbyists. Private insurance companies have consistently increased the cost of healthcare making it unaffordable to the poor. Medicaid has been their only parachute. I am sick of politicians who refuse to consider the beneficial impact of Obamacare (perhaps the name has a lot to do with it) on a large section of the low income group. I am not surprised that these GOP candidates unilalterally treat Medicaid as a burden on the taxpayers who'd rather see such subsidy redistributed as tax shelter for the rich.
