I'll go first..

my boss hired this post doc few years ago who was supposed to have done his phd in
Analytical Ultracentrifugation.. using ultracentrifuges to predict size/weight of a protein or macromolecule.

First day in the job he asks a student "How do I use the ultracentrifuge?" That student came back to his desk muttering, IDIOT..

DM, first i googled "Ultracentrifugation.". i think i knew micro molecule but googled that as well. then i was reminded of calvin and Hobbes Transmogrifier. then i felt stupid. of course, i lost my train of thought.
