Some Indian Americans have always sought to ingratiate themselves to the whites and think of themselves as quasi-white. They think of themselves as superior to black people and other, non-desi brown people. Trump's appeal to Hindu was directed at that subset of Indian Americans.

I am afraid those Indian Americans will be sorely disappointed in the years to come.

you are wrong. nobody has any illusions that trump or his supporters will treat indian americans any different than other non-white people.

just because you don't like shrilery doesn't make you a trump supporter. pointing out the double standards of libbies and media doesn't make one an automatic trump supporter. we just don't think that the sky is going to fall and there will be wild mobs hunting indian and other non-white people as the libbies tell us in so many words.

They don't have to hunt us. Subtle taunts in public spaces, everyday threats, bullying in schools -- these are sufficiently bad for some of us. Many traded not having to deal with that with the real or perceived corruptness of Clinton. You made a different choice (or maybe none at all). You got your way and the genie is out of the bottle. We all have to live with its consequences. We weren't before, but we are now, in the same boat.

Maybe, but they were held in check. The attitude of the administration matters. Now they feel emboldened.

hashmukh-bhai, you are only half right; he is an abuser and a bully, alright, but he is your president, not mine.
