in my opinion this year's sangItha kalAnidhi award is acknowledgment by the academy of the depth of carnatic music talent in north america. it's fitting that it has gone to prof trichy sankaran who has dedicated himself to teaching the art of mridangam to north american students. he is the torchbearer of the pazhani subramaniam pillai school.

check out ashwin bhogendra. he has his own website. check out the audio clips. amazing local talent! his wife is a BN dancer, a disciple of shobana and ig probably going to MC my show.
