If true, this is good. Critical thinking leading to disowning a violent religion is a positive sign.

a few points. first, not just muslims but all Indians should accept science and reject religion. second, it is only in the last paragraph, in a single sentence, that one learns of the other development that is taking place in parallel: of many muslims in India becoming radicalized. as the article says, "most of those interviewed here observed that there is also a rival trend of Muslims becoming more religious than they used to be."

third, i found the last point in the article to be abhorrent:

However, given the critical thinking emerging through these former Muslims, there is an urgent need for a platform for them where they can join hands, network and discuss Islam, more so since Islam is engaged in an eternal conflict with the identity of India as a civilisation.

There has never been the kind of conflict that the author is talking of. Islam in India is Sufi Islam in which the vast majority of Indian muslims worship at the shrines and tombs of sufi saints. Hindus also worship at these shrines and tombs. Noteworthy is the fact that the worship of shrines and tombs is frowned upon in ultra-orthodox Islam.
