Hindu Superstition vs Indian Science: The case of Aryabhata and his detractors Empty Hindu Superstition vs Indian Science: The case of Aryabhata and his detractors

Aryabhata (circa 5th century AD) was arguably the greatest scientist produced by India. He was a mathematician, and also an astronomer. He is credited with composing the works Aryabhatiya and Suryasidhanta. He had given the value pi to a very close approximation. And he had brilliantly predicted that the Earth rotates around its axis. So how did a stupid Vedantin dare to contradict the great Aryabhata on a  topic pertaining to science? By appealing to the Vedas, of course, and claiming that what Arybhata was saying contradicted what the Vedas said. If you find this unbelievable read for yourself:

In the attached article at the link, start reading from page 43 of the article. The description of the stupid Vedantin contradicting Aryabhata by relying on the Vedas is given in page 44 in the attached article at the link.

As to why scientists like Brahmagupta contradicted and criticized Aryabhata, see not only the article at the link above, but also the following:
