A society that values higher education prospers; one that doesn't declines. A majority of Republicans now believe colleges and universities are bad for America. This has potentially far-reaching consequences as colleges and universities continue to lose state funding, student debt continues to spiral, and then college education is an unaffordable burden for poorer Americans. Higher education acts as a strong leveler-of-the-playing-field in most societies, and it allows for upward mobility. Most of the Americans on this forum would not be in this country if they had not gotten a higher education.
