Tamil Chair at Harvard
To the Thamizhars and others interested in Thamizh on SUCH, there is an initiative to install a new chaired professorship at Harvard focused on Thamizh studies. We are looking to come up with an endowment of $6M and it has been a steady but slow climb. Please donate and make this happen:

Great. Just curious to know whether any chairs for Hindi/Sanskrit or any other Indian Language in any major US university?

Questions to those Tamil Nadu Tamils who day they are Indians and India is their country.
How much money did Indian gov contribute to the Harvard Tamil Chair Fund?

Indian gov has wholly funded many Hindi chairs around the world.
To my knowledge there is no Hindi chair funded by private contributions.
Tamil Chair at Univ of Calif, Berkeley was established from private contributions.

Re: Tamil Chair at Harvard
DMK on Tuesday pledged Rs 1 crore for establishing an exclusive endowment chair for Tamil language at the prestigious Harvard University in United States..
Aiyyadurai suspects Harvard may be inspired by the well established DK modus operandi of exploitation
According to Dr. Ayyadurai, “The fundraising effort in the name of setting up a Tamil Chair is a ruse that exemplifies Harvard’s habitual exploitation of indigenous people. This is an egregious example akin to a burglar asking you to pay money to buy a rickety ladder to rob your own home. Harvard is asking Tamilians to pay $6 million for a professorship that will be used to rob their own historic artifacts worth trillions of dollars representing the ‘Holy Grail’ of the world’s most highly-prized indigenous knowledge.” Harvard will then proceed to use access to those artifacts to rewrite and hegemonies Tamil history, an unfortunate and recurrent process that Harvard has done for far too long to many indigenous cultures.Tamil is the oldest surviving language with the richest body of poetry, art, and literature known to humankind, along with hundreds of thousands of sacred artifacts codified in palm leaf manuscripts embodying the scientific, technological and medical knowledge spanning at least 5,000 years of the Tamilians, the indigenous people of the Indian subcontinent, who today primarily reside in Tamil Nadu in India

None of this sounds credible. No proof, just mere assertions. This from the man who claimed to have invented email! Always examine the source. This guy is a GOP operative trying to unseat Elizabeth Warren, one of the most prominent targets for the GOP. The Tamil chair effort is a noble endeavor. A lot of people have been working hard for a long time. Don't fall for the propaganda. I know a lot of the big donors personally. They are Hindu Indian Tamils with no connections to Eelam or the LTTE. Ayyadurai is conducting a smear campaign.

Tell me 1 Hindian who donated money for Hindi development. All money come from non-Hindi taxpayers. Hindians do not give even 1 rupee through taxers to Hindi development. All money come from non-Hindi taxpayers.
For every Rs. 100 India collects in taxes from TN, it gives TN Rs 45. At the same time for every Rs. 100 India collects in taxes from UP, it gives UP Rs 174. So Hindians do not give India a single rupee in taxes. Instead they collect non-Hindi tax monies from India.

Is Harvard expecting more money for itself before officially announcing the establishment of a Tamil Chair and why is there a significant charge / expenditure (6 million dollars so far by Tamil Chair Inc.) to get Tamil Chair at Harvard?

We are celebrating getting scammed out of $6 M by Harvard now? I would have been happy if some stupid Tamil sepoys only got scammed out of some money by the wily white man. But the sad part is that the wily white man is going to use this money to screw the Tamils up the backside in the years to come.

Why is it a scam?
We encourage independent research. We are confident of the antiquity and richness of Tamil language and culture. Let truth come out. Whatever it is.

The intellectual bankruptcy and inferior sepoy-giri of this initiative is exposed in this panel discussion. Checkout the Tamil guy who sits mum most of the time with nothing substantial to say. I bet the Tamil professors on here won't have a better response to these arguments.

In fact, all the Tamil pulis tucked their tails between their legs and ran away scared when invited for an intellectual debate. Like most low IQ people, Tamil pulis tend to be all emotion, no intellect on most issues.

Tamil's claim to ancientness lies mostly in its having a very incomplete alphabet from the beginning.
While other languages in India, including Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada in south India, had over time borrowed and implemented the much improved and comprehensive Sanskrit alphabet system using their respective scripts in updated and expanded forms, Tamil retained and continued with its ancient inadequate / incomplete alphabet and script, thus creating the dubious distinction of being the oldest Indian language.
