What if a human is no different than a deer on this planet?

A deer, or a rabbit, or a bird, or a spider?

You get the point.

Its just another life form.

This human.

Well, happens to be intelligent - can make mansions to live in, than a mere nest by a bird, or a hole by a mole.

But same same?

What if we are just another species on this planet?

Or what tells me that we are not?

Of course we are!

Without this body, if put in another body, am I capable to type this message on this discussion board?

No. So, me typing right now is a function of this body, and its capabilities.

So, if I am NOT this body, than "whoever I am" (soul, bhoot, uddi-baba, drop of oceanic God, aatma etc.) - I really have NO control of how I express myself unless I am in a body of intelligence?

So, my true self is really dependent on its body.

What is a soul without any body?

Meaningless?

There is no soul. So you don't have to protect or wonder about something that doesn't exist. However, there is a sole. Hope you are wearing adequate footwear to protect it.

A body without soul is a dead body. Soul without body is a no body. The former cannot be experienced and the latter cannot be comprehended.
